The Way Legit Paid Surveys Operate
A legitimate paid survey company will have a professional and non-gimmicky website. Usually you will find information for advertisers looking to use their services to find panelists, like you, to get paid for their opinions. You should also see a privacy policy and an FAQ section. Once you click the link to sign up for paid surveys, you should see a detailed entry form asking you for your demographic information, like name, address, likes, dislikes, preferences, etc. This information is not sold or given away. It’s kept private, and paid survey companies use this information to figure out what are the best paid surveys to send to you, based on your age, location, profession, and preferences. If you see a sign up form that only asks for your name and email address, while simultaneously promising you a free trip to the moon…don’t do it. Did you hear me? Don’t Do It!!! How Much Money Can I Earn With Paid Surveys?
The answer to this question varies….greatly. The amount of money you can earn from paid surveys will depend on many things. How desperate are you are for money? How many survey companies are you willing to sign up with? How honest and consistent do you plan to be with your answers? Are you in the US, Canada, UK or Australia? Your demographics will come into play as well. Things like your age, your location and your profession will determine how many paid surveys you will receive. I can’t tell you what to expect there. I’m pretty average and I get quite a few, but I average between $50 and $100 per month and I ignore a few offers due to personal preference. I have my favorites, and those survey companies that pay the best.

Other Perks
Occasionally, and sometimes more than occasionally, you’ll get an invite to test a product or an invite to a focus group. Focus groups pay a lot more. Where you can expect to earn from $1 to $5 for each survey you complete, you might get $50 to $150 for your participation in a focus group. In my experience, these don’t come along every day, but I do get quite a few offers. Participation in focus groups is much less broad, meaning you won’t qualify every time, so try to qualify for as many as possible. One of my favorite parts of taking paid surveys online is the test products. I take surveys for about 3 different companies that regularly send test products. It can be anything from food, to air fresheners, to diapers or wipes, to deodorant. Usually, you get to keep the product, AND you get paid for giving your opinions once you’ve have it long enough to formulate one. Sometimes it’s $2, sometimes it’s $10, and sometimes it’s more.
